have failed to appear, in that event, such of the
talesmen as have been properly summoned and
have appeared, shall be called to be sworn in the
order in which their said names are recorded in the
jury book aforesaid, or whenever, in the Superior
Court of Baltimore City, the Court of Common
Pleas, or the Baltimore City Court, it shall be
necessary to summon talesmen, the Judges of the
said Courts respectively, instead of or in addition
to resorting to the foregoing provisions of this
Section for the summoning of talesmen, may order
the Sheriff to summon as such talesmen any of the
jurymen in attendance upon either of the other of
the said Courts who may not then be engaged as
part of any special panel.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the day of its passage.

AN ACT to appropriate the sums of money therein
mentioned to pay the claims of Augustus Gas-
saway and R. Vinton Clayton, assignees of
George Earle, Bartlett, Robbins & Co., Frede-
rick Sasscer, George A. Huntt, George E. Gam-
brill, William Walsh, trustee, A. Hamilton
Hall, Lewis Magruder, John M. Bond, R. Vin-
ton Clayton, George S. White, Leonard & Town-
send, James R. Alvey, Charles Shipley, A. S.
Abell & Co., Daniel Caulk and Jacob Markee.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer, upon the war-
rant of the Comptroller, who is hereby directed to
issue the same, be and he is hereby authorized and
directed to pay to Augustus Gassaway and R. Vin-
ton Clayton, assignees of George Earle, late Clerk
