in the name of said Company by an action of
debt before any Justice of the Peace or the Cir-
cuit Court for the county in which such damage
shall be sustained, and also be subject to an in-
dictment in the Circuit Court for the county
where such offence may be committed, and upon
conviction of such offence shall be punished by
fine and imprisonment, in the discretion of said
Courts.

 

Sec. 20. And be it enacted, That if this road
shall not be commenced in four years from the
passage of this Act, and shall not be finished in
ten years from said date, then this Act shall be
null and void.

Limit,

Sec. 21. And be it enacted, That nothing in this
Act shall be so construed as to authorize the said
Company to issue any note, token, script or other
evidence of debt to be used as currency, and the
Legislature hereby reserves the right to alter,
amend or modify this Act at pleasure.

Sec. 22. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 162.

AN ACT to enable the Vestry of Saint Thomas'
Parish, in Baltimore County, to hold money in
trust for certain religious and charitable pur-
poses, connected with the Protestant Episcopal
Church in America, or with said Parish.

 

SECTION 1. Se it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Vestry of Saint Thomas'
Parish, in Baltimore County, be and they are
hereby authorized and empowered to receive by be-
quest or gift any sum or sums of money, not ex-
ceeding altogether ten thousand dollars, and the
