CHAPTER 153.

An Act entitled an Act to repea an Act passed
January Session eighteen hundred and sixty-six,
entitled "An Act to Incorporate a Company to
Build a Turnpike Road from Union Bridge, Car-
roll County, to Unionville, Frederick County,"
and enact a substitute therefor.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That an Act passed February
seventh, eighteen hundred and sixty -six, Chapter
fifty-one, entitled "An Act to Incorporate a Com-
pany to Build a Turnpike Road from Union Bridge,
Carroll County, to Unionville, Frederick County,
be and the same is hereby repealed and the follow-
ing enacted in lieu thereof:

Repealed.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That a Company be
incorporated to make a turnpike road from Union
Bridge, Carroll County, to Unionville, Frederick
County, with the privilege of making a lateral or
branch road in the direction of Johnsville and
Liberty, Frederick County.

Lateral road.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the capital stock
of said Company shall not exceed thirty thousand
dollars in ahares of twenty dollars each.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That subscription
books may be opened under the direction of Nathan
Euglar, Jesse Myers, H. D. Hartsook, Reuben
Taylor, David Stitely, Jesse Anders, John Deihl,
George P. Buckley, Thomas Jones, Lott Hartsook,
John Clemson, Peter H. Shiner, and David Rine-
hart, or any three of them, who are hereby ap-
pointed Commissioners to receive subscriptions to
the capital stock of said Company, and said Com-
missioners or a majority of them shall fix the
time and place of receiving such subscriptions, and
the sums so subscribed to the stock of said Com-
pany shall be payable to the President and Direc-
tors hereinafter provided for in such sums and at
such times as they may direct and require.

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That when two hun-
dred and fifty shares of said stock shall hare been
