CHAPTER 150.

AN ACT to incorporate the Southern Maryland
Railroad Company.

 

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That a corporation be, and is hereby
created and chartered by the name of the Southern
Maryland Railroad Company, for the purpose of
constructing, maintaining and working a railroad
from some point in Prince George's County to
Point Lookout.

Title.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the capital stock
of said corporation shall be not less than one mil-
lion dollars nor more than four million dollar, di-
vided into shares of one hundred dollars each.

Capital stock.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That William B. Hill,
Charles Clagett, John D. Bowling, William B.
Bowie, Isaac M. Densori, Johns Hopkins, Dr. W.
W. Watkins, Galloway Cheston, Robert Fowler,
Walter Mitchell, John Hamilton, Thos. T. Gar-
diner, P. A. Sasscer, D. Wm. Boarman, The-
ophilus Harrison, John Parsons, Jno. B. Abell,
G. Fred. Maddox, Thomas O. Spencer, Jno. M.
Brown and John A. Dunbar are hereby appointed
Commissioners to open books and receive subscrip-
tions for said capital stock at such time and times
and place or places as they shall deem proper. A
majority of them shall have power to act ; they
may fill vacancies, occurring in their own body by
