CHAPTER 147.
AN ACT to refund to Samuel S. Redgraves, of
Anne Arundel County, Maryland, a certain sum
of money, erroneously paid by him into the
State Treasury, on account of State taxes.

Refund taxes.

WHEREAS, it has been made to appear to the
General Assembly of Maryland, that certain pro-
perty belonging to Samuel S. Redgraves, of Anne
Arundel County, has been assessed beyond its real
value, to the extent and sum of three thousand
nine hundred and ninety-six dollars, and has paid
the State taxes on said excess for the years 1853,
1854, 1855, 1856, 1857, 1858, 1859, 1860, 1861,
1862, J863, 1864, 1865, 1866 and 1867, which
amount of taxes so paid should be refunded to him,
the same having been recommended by the Comp-
troller and Treasurer.

SECTION 1. Be It enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer of Maryland, on
the warrant of the Comptroller, is hereby author-
ized and directed to pay to Samuel S. Redgraves,
or order, ninety-nine dollars and ninety cents,
being the amount of State taxes erroneously paid
by him, from the year eighteen hundred and fifty-
three to eighteen hundred and sixty-seven, both
inclusive, he having paid that amount of State
taxes, which was received into the State Treasury.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
