the rate of toll for horses, cattle, wagons, carts,
carriages and other vehicles, sheep and hogs, shall
be the same as is now allowed by law to the Bal-
timore and Liberty Turnpike Company and no
greater.

Sec. 13. And be it enacted, That nothing herein
contained shall authorize the said Company to issue
note, token or device to be used as currency.

Sec. 14. And be it enacted, That the said turn-
pike road shall be completed within ten years from
the passage of this Act, and that this Act shall
go into effect from the date of its passage, and

CHAPTER 113.

AN ACT to incorporate the "Maryland Demo-
cratic Association."

Reservation.

SECTION. 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That William Pinkney Whyte, Jas.
L, McLane, John Stewart, William T. Markland,
James W. Denny, their associates, successors and
assigns, be, and they are hereby created a body
corporate by the name and style of the "Maryland
Democratic Association," and by that name shall
have perpetual succession, and shall be capable in
law to hold and dispose of property, real, personal
and mixed, fee-simply or leasehold, to sue and be
sued, to plead and be impleaded, to answer and
defend, and be answered and defended in any
courts of law or equity and in any other place
whatever; to receive and make deeds and con-
tracts, to make, have and use a common seal, and
the same to change, alter and renew at pleasure ;
to ordain and establish such by-laws, ordinances
and regulations as may appear necessary for regu-
