LAWS OF MARYLAND.

 

County, as amended and re-enacted by the Act of
eighteen hundred and sixty-four, Chapter one
hundred and twenty-one, be, and the same is here-
by repealed, amended and re-enacted so as to read
as follows :

Survey.

Sec. 23. The survey made under the authority
of the Mayor and City Councilmen of the town of
Cumberland, and entered upon the record of their
proceedings, and recorded in the office of the Clerk
of the Circuit Court for Allegany County, shall
constitute the bounds and limits of said city, but
the Mayor and Councilmen of said city shall have

full power and authority to extend the bounds and
limits thereof not exceeding one mile from the
present limits whenever they shall deem expedient,
and shall, whenever they extend the same, record
the survey of every such extension among their own
proceedings and among the land records of said Alle-
gany County ; provided, however, that for all san-
itary and police purposes the Mayor and City
Councilmen of said city shall have and exercise
full authority and control for one-half mile in every
direction beyond the bounds and limits of said city.

In force.

Sec. 2. Be it enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 111.

AN ACT to authorize Betsy A. White of Wicom-
ico County, to settle her accounts as guardian to
David A. White, and to deliver over the estate
to her said ward.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, Betsy A, White, of Wicomico Coun-
ty, and her ward David A. White, are anxious
that said ward may receive all his property and
act as a man of full age in respect thereto ; there-
