this Act, not exceeding thirty dollars, shall be re-
coverable before any Magistrate in the same man-
ner as debts urtder ten dollars are recoverable.

Sec. 17. And be it enacted, That the President
and Directors of said Company shall keep a just
and full account of all moneys received by their
respective toll gathers at their several respective
gates on said roads, which account shall be, upon
oath or affirmation as the case may be when re-
quired, and shall make a dividend of the clear
profits and income thereof among the stockholders,
which dividend shall be declared half yearly in the
months of January and July, and published and
paid accordingly.

Sec. 18. And be it enacted, That it shall not be
lawful for said Company to ask, demand, or re-
ceive toll of or from any person or persons going
to or returning from church or funeral, or from
any person or persons within the lines of whose
lands any gate may be erected, from passing from
one part to another part of said lands along said
road.

Sec. 19. And be it enacted, That the County
Commissioners be and they are hereby authorized
and empowered to subscribe for as many shares in
the capital stock of said Company as in their judg-
ment they may deem advisable, under the provi-
sions of the fifty-fourth Section of the third Arti-
cle of the Constitution.

Sec. 20. And be it enacted, That nothing in this
Act shall be so construed as to allow said Company
to issue any note, scrip, token, certificate, or other
evidence of debt to be issued as currency.

Sec. 21. And be it enacted, That this Act of in-
corporation shall continue in force for fifty years,
and that the General Assembly hereby reserves
the right to alter, amend, or repeal this Act at
