have one vote for each share of stock by him, her,
or them held ; provided, that no person or body
politic shall have more than thirty votes.

Name.
|
Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the stockholders
in said Company shall be and they are hereby
constituted a body politic by the name of the
Fairview Road Company, and by that name shall
have succession during the continuance of this
Company, may sue and be sued., answer and be
answered in any Court of law or equity in this
State, and may do and execute every other matter
and thing by the name aforesaid that they are
authorized to do in and by virtue of this Act.

Additional
subscriptions.
|
Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the President
and Managers after their election as hereinbefore
provided for, shall have full power to receive addi-
tional subscriptions, and shall cause the said road
to be laid out on or near the bed of the County
Road leading from Cearfoss Cross Roads to Fair-
view — known as the Fairview Road — making an
artificial bed of stones, gravel or slate, not less
than sixteen feet in width.

Completed
within five
years.
|
Sec. 5. And be it enacted. That the said Com-
pany shall cause said road to be completed within
live years from the organization thereof, otherwise
the right of said stockholders shall revert to the
State of Maryland.

Toll-gates.
|
Sec. 6. And be it enacted, That the President
and Managers aforesaid shall have the right to
erect a toll-gate or toll-gates, and to appoint a toll
gatherer or toll gatherers., whose duty it shall be
to receive of and from all and every person or
persons using said road the tolls and rates herein-
after mentioned, and to stop any person riding,
leading or driving any horse, cattle, sheep, hogs,
wagon, cart, carriage, sleigh, coach, or any other
carriage of pleasure or burthen from passing
through said gate until they have respectively paid

Charges.

the same. That is to say, for every score of sheep,
five cents ; for every score of hogs, five cents ; for
every score of cattle, ten cents ; for every horse
ridden, led or running loose, three cents ; for every
carriage, cart, wagon, sleigh or sled, of either
pleasure or burthen, with wheels less than four
inches in width, six cents ; for each horse drawing
