CHAPTER 25.

AN ACT to make valid certain official acts of
John Miller as a Justice of the Peace of the
State of Maryland, in and for Somerset county.

 

WHEREAS, John Miller who was appointed one
of the Justices of the Peace of the State of Mary-
land in and for Somerset county, by the Governor,
received his commission, and was sworn in on the
first day of May, 1867, and between that day and
the first Monday in May, 1867, performed sundry
official acts ; and whereas, it has been since dis-
covered that his term of office did not commence
until the said first Monday in May, eighteen hun-
dred and sixty-seven, and doubts exists as to the
legality of his official acts as aforesaid performed ;
now, therefore,

John Miller
as Justice of
the Peace.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland. That all the official acts of the said
John Miller as a Justice of the Peace, performed
between the first day of May, eighteen hundred
and sixty-seven, and the first Monday in May,
eighteen hundred and sixty-seven, he and they are
hereby made valid and legal in all respects, as if
said acts had been performed after the said first
Monday in May, eighteen hundred and sixty-seven.

Made valid.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
Approved February 18, 1868.

CHAPTER 26.

 

AN ACT to authorize and empower the County
Commissioners for Anne Arundel county to levy
and refund a certain sum of money to Samuel
Redgraves, of said county, for county and school
taxes erroneously paid by him.

 

WHEREAS, it appears by the books of the office
of the County Commissioners for the aforesaid
county, that Samuel Redgraves was erroneously
