Which, was rejected by yeas and nays as follows: AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Maddox, Clarke, Malone, Denson, Smith, Grove, Walsh—10. Henkle, Kimmel, NEGATIVE. Messrs. Browne, Miller, Brewer, Parker, of Calvert, Carroll, Spates, Fields, Snyder, Hyland, Welch—11. Hammond, The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered House bill appropriating a sum of money to pay David Fowler for legal services in the Comptroller's office. Endorsed, " Considered and Senate amendments non-con- curred in." On motion by Mr. Clarke, The following message was sent to the House of Delegates: BY THE SENATE, March 30,1868. Gentlemen of the House of Delegates : We have received your message of this date asking that this House recede from an amendment proposed to House bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money to pay David Fowler, for legal services in the Comptroller's Department, and respectfully decline to recede from said amendment, but would suggest the appointment of a Committee of Conference thereon, consisting of two members of the Senate and three of the House. We have appointed on the part of the Senate Messrs. Clarke and Henkle. The clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the following message: |
