222 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 1.

1867, entitled "an Act for the protection of the public
against medical imposters, and for the suppression of the
crime of unlawful abortion."

On motion of Mr. Beck,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to amend section 31, Article 24, of the Code
of Public General Laws, title conveyancing, sub-title mort-
gages.

On motion of Mr. Montague,

Leave was granted to the Baltimore county delegation to
introduce a bill to prevent cattle and horses running at large
within one mile of Catonsville, Baltimore county.

On motion of Mr. Biddison,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill enabling the Directors of the Maryland Peni-
tentiary to remove the insane from the Maryland Peniten-
tiary to some Insane Asylum.

On motion of Mr. Stewart, of Dorchester,

The vote by which leave was on yesterday granted to the
Committee on Ways and Means to introduce a bill to provide
for the liquidation and settlement of claims for arming and
equipping the Militia,

Was reconsidered, and,

On motion of Mr. Stewart, of Dorchester,
Referred to the Committee on Militia.

Mr. Iglehart, chairman of the Committee on Corporations;
reported favorably a bill entitled an Act to incorporate An-
fietam Lodge No. 4, Maryland, of the Independent Order of
Good Templars, of Sharpsburg, Washington county.

Which was read a first time.
Also,

A bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Maryland Demo-
cratic Association.

Which was read a first time.
Also,

A bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 75 and 76 of Ar-
ticle 21, Public Local Laws, relating to the town of Clear-
spring, in Washington county, and to re-enact the same with
amendments, so as to read as follows :
