House bill entitled an Act to add new sections to the Code
of Public Local Laws, for Baltimore city, Article 4, under
the head of Tobacco, as amended and re-amended by the Acts
of Assembly of 1864, chapter 346, 1865, chapter 194, and
1867, chapter 368.

Which was read a second time.
Mr. Earle from the Committee on Finance reported

House bill entitled an Act making appropriations for the
support of the Government for the year ending the first day
of January, 1870, with the following amendments :

Sec. 1, line 18, strike out all after the word "dollars," to
the word for in the 20th line.

Sec. I, line 18, after the word "dollars," insert as follows;
to St. Agnes Hospital, the sum of three thousand dollars ; to
Children's Aid Society, of Baltimore city, five hundred dol-
lars ; to the Baltimore Orphans' Asylum, two thousand dol-
lars ; to St. Mary's Industrial school, ten thousand dollars.

Which were adopted,
And the bill as amended read a second time.

Mr. Grove, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported favorably

House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 50, Article 5,
of the Code of Public General Laws, title appeals, sub-title
appeals from Justices of the Peace, and to re-enact the same
with amendment.

Which was read the second time.
Also, reported favorably

House bill entitled an Act releasing the right of this State
to a distributive portion of the personal estate of James
O'Hara, his only son and next of kin.

Which was read the second time.
Also, reported favorably

House bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact with
amendments section 98, of Article 16, of the Code of Public
General Laws, entitled " Chancery," and relating to service
of notice on non-residents.

Which was read the second time.
Also, reported favorably

House bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower the
President and Directors of the Maryland Insane Asylum to
convey certain lands to the Maryland Inebriate Asylum for
the uses of said Institution.
