House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Monumental

Permanent Building and Land Society of Baltimore.
Which was read the second time.
Also, reported favorably
House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Broadway

Savings Bank of Baltimore.
Which was read the second time.
Mr. Grove, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,

reported

House bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1867, chap-
ter 385, passed March 20, 1867, entitled an Act to provide
for the payment of pensions to Maryland soldiers of the war
of 1812, and widows of deceased soldiers of 1812

With the following amendments :

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this Act shall not prevent
the payment of pensions now due and payable upon the cer-
tificates heretofore granted under the general Pension law of
1867, chapter 385 ; but such certificates shall be void and of
no effect for the claim and payment of pensions thereafter.
Section 2, strike out section 2, and insert section 3.
Which were rejected,
And the bill read a second time.

Mr. Walsh, from the Committee on the Executive Man-
sion, submitted the following

REPORT.
To the Honorable,
The General Assembly of Maryland :

The Committee appointed to select and purchase a site for,
and construct a mansion for the use of the Governor of Mary-
land, beg leave to respectfully report that it fully accords
with the Joint Committee on Public Buildings, which on
the 30th January reported to the Senate and House of Dele-
gates that they had examined the several sites offered to
them, and had unanimously determined upon the lots offered
by Mrs. M. E. Green, George E. Franklin, and James W.
Allen, Esqs.

Your Committee, coinciding in the views of said Joint
Committee, respectfully recommend the selection of the lots
above mentioned as a suitable site for the Governor's
mansion.
