The Senate met pursuant to adjournment. Prayer by the Rev. Mr. Hammond. Present at roll call : Messrs. President, Browne, Biggs, Brewer, Clarke, Earle,. Fields, Henkle, Hyland, Hammond, Kimmel, Maddox, Mil- ler, Parker, of Calvert, Spates, Snyder, Smith, Walsh, Welch—19. Mr. Miller, from a select committee, reported House bill entitled an Act to amend the Public Local Laws of Kent county, title Chestertown, by repealing sections 35 and 46, and to re-enact the same as amended, with the following amendment: Amendment proposed: Section 46, line 11, amend by striking out the word "thirty," and insert in lieu thereof the words twenty-five. Which was adopted, and The bill as amended was read the second time. Mr. Biggs, from the Committee on Pensions, reported House bill entitled an Act granting to certain soldiers, and the widows of soldiers of the war of 1812, a pension of eighty dollars per annum, to be paid in quarterly instal- ments, with the following amendment: After county, in 63d line, insert the names of Hannah Williams, John Baublitz, Edward Burnham, of Baltimore county; William Heckrote, Valentine Alexander, Adam Gower, Elisha McCrobie, John McCrobie, William Paton, |
