The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered House bill entitled an Act supplementary to, and amenda- tory of an Act passed at the present session of the General Assembly of Maryland, entitled an Act to amend the charter of the Cumberland and Pennsylvania Rail Road Company, passed at January session, 1849, chapter 469. Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee on Corporations. Also, delivered Senate bill entitled an Act to amend the seventh section of the 18th Article of the Code of Public General Laws, provid- ing for the payment of public moneys by clerks of courts. Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays," Also, delivered Senate bill entitled an Act to amend sections 146 and 147 of the 81st Article of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to the payment of public monies by clerks of Registers of Wills. Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays." Also, returned Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal section 3 of an Act entitled an Act incorporating the Maryland Institute for the promotion of the Mechanics arts, passed December session, 1849, chapter 114, and to enact a substitute therefor, and to add additional sections thereto, as sections 8 and 9. Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays." House bill entitled an Act to repeal certain portions of the Act of 1860, chapter 303, of the General Assembly of Mary- land, relating to the Columbia and Port Deposit Rail Road Company, Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays as follows: AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Lee, Biggs, Miller, Brewer, Parker, of Calvert, Clarke, Spates, Carroll, Snyder, Grove, Smith, Henkle, Walsh—15. Hyland, NEGATIVE—None. Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates. |
