Committee on the Contingent Fund placed at the disposal of
the Executive.—Messrs. Davis, of Cecil, Silver, Mullin, Mar-
shall, Holmes, Trimble, Fooks.
Mr. Chaisty submitted the following order :
Ordered, That a committee of three be appointed to exam-
ine into the condition of the Maryland Hospital in the City of
Baltimore, and the management of the same, and that the
committee report to this House.
Which was adopted, and Messrs Chaisty, Hammond and
Rose constituted said committee.
On motion of Mr. Markland,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
report a bill to incorporate a company for the publication of
a Journal devoted to progressive Democracy, to be styled
" The Maryland Democratic Association."
On motion of Mr. Riggs,
Leave was granted to the Montgomery county delegation
to introduce a bill to amend an Act entitled an Act to add a
new Article to the Code of Public General Laws, to be enti-
tled Public Roads, and re-enact the same with amendments
so as to exclude Montgomery county from the operation of
said act.
On Motion of Mr. Beck,
Leave was granted to the Kent and Queen Anne's county
delegations to introduce a bill, to be entitled an Act to amend
the 4th section of the Act of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, passed at January session., 1864, chapter 29, entitled
an Act to repeal the 12th section of an Act to incorporate the
Kent County Rail Road Company, passed on the 8th day of
March, 1856, chapter 148, to add 4 sections thereto, and to
appoint four new commissioners in the place of four deceased
commissioners.
On motion of Mr. Harden,
Leave was granted to the Carroll county delegation to re-
port a bill to authorize the County Commissioners of Carroll
County to change the place of voting in the 4th election
district.
On motion of Mr. Rolirer,
Leave was granted to the Washington county delegation
to introduce a bill authorizing the Commissioners of Wash-
ington county to build a bridge across Mullendore's Creek
in said county.
On motion of Mr. Morse,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
present a bill to amend the election laws relative to the
swearing in of judges and clerks of election in Baltimore
city.
On motion of Mr. Maynard,
