House bill entitled an Act to authorize and direct the State Librarian to subscribe for a sufficient number of Simon J. Martinet's Map of Maryland, to supply each public school in- the State therewith. Which had been ordered to lie over, Was taken up on its passage and passed by yeas and nays. as follows: AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. Browne, Grove, Biggs, Kimmel, Clarke, Lee, Carroll, Malone, Denson, Snyder, Earle, Smith, Fields, Walsh—14. NEGATIVE. Messrs. President, Spates, Brewer, Welch—5. Hammond, The bill was then returned to the House of Delegates. Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 2, 3, 4 and 5, of Article 45, of the Code of Public General Laws relating to Usury, and to re-enact the same with amendments, Was taken up. The question being upon the amendment of Mr. Carroll, to make 7 per cent. the legal rate of interest in absence of contract.
