House bill entitled an Act to authorize and direct the State
Librarian to subscribe for a sufficient number of Simon J.
Martinet's Map of Maryland, to supply each public school in-
the State therewith.

Which had been ordered to lie over,

Was taken up on its passage and passed by yeas and nays.

The bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 2, 3, 4 and 5,
of Article 45, of the Code of Public General Laws relating
to Usury, and to re-enact the same with amendments,

Was taken up.

The question being upon the amendment of Mr. Carroll,
to make 7 per cent. the legal rate of interest in absence of
contract.

Which was determined in the negative by yeas and nays
as follows:
