Hammond, NEGATIVE—None. The bill was then returned to the House of Delegates. Mr. Browne, from the Committee on Education, reported Senate bill entitled an Act to prohibit the sale of intoxi- cating liquors within one-fourth of a mile of the School- house in School District No. 11, in Anne Arundel county. Which was read the first time. Mr. Hammond, from a select committee, reported Senate bill entitled an Act to allow certain persons to build a pier in connection with one of the State wharves in Baltimore city. Which was read the first time. Mr. Fields, from the select committee, reported Senate bill entitled an Act to add a new Article to the Code of Public General Laws, to be entitled Public Roads in Caro- line county. Which was read the first time. Mr. Miller, from the select committee, reported Senate bill entitled en Act to repeal section 189 of Article 8 of the Public Local Laws for Cecil county, entitled Sheriff, and to re-enact the same as follows. Which was read the first time. On motion by Mr. Miller, Leave was granted to the. Committee on Finance to report a bill to prohibit tax collectors from applying money col- lected by them for county taxes to the payment of State taxes.
