Harford, to report a bill to repeal section 189, of Article 8,
of the Public Local Laws for Cecil county, entitled "Sheriffs,"
and to re-enact the same with amendments. "

On motion by Mr. Earle,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to report
a bill to repeal the 49th section of the 88th Article, of the
Code of Public General Laws, title "Oaths of Office and
Issues," sub-title "Collection of Officer's Fees," and re-enact
the same with amendments.

On motion by Mr. Earle,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to report
a bill to appropriate a sum of money for the relief of the
suffering females of the South, through the agency of the
Ladies of the Southern Relief Association of Baltimore.

Mr. Hyland, from a select Committee, reported Senate bill
entitled an Act to repeal section 36, Article 19, of the Public
Local Laws, title Somerset county, regulating the terms of
the Circuit Court for Somerset county, and to re-enact the
same with amendments.

Which was read the first time.

Senate bill entitled an Act to continue in force the Act en-
titled an Act to incorporate the North Branch Company,
passed at January session of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, of 1853, chapter 108,

Was read a third time and passed by yeas and nays as fol-
lows :

AFFIRMATIVE.

Biggs, Hammond,
Brewer, Lee,
Carroll, Spates,
Earle, Snyder,
Fields, Smith,
Grove, Walsh,

NEGATIVE—None.

Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates.

Senate bill entitled an Act to extend the time limited by
the Act of 1867, chapter 189, section 6, for producing and
perpetuating the evidence of the ownership of slaves, so far
as the same relates to citizens of Dorchester county.

Was read the third time, and passed by yeas and nays
