450 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 13,

session, 1866, entitled an Act to incorporate a company to
build a Turnpike road from Union bridge, Carroll county, to
Unionsville, Frederick county, and enact a substitute there-
for,

With proposed amendments:

In section 10, line 5, after the word "authorised," insert
as follows, "subject to the provisions of Article 3, section 54,
of the Constitution of Maryland.

Additional section:

And be it enacted, That this Company shall not be privi-
leged to charge any tolls for vehicles passing over its road
for the purpose of attending funerals,

as follows:

A bill entitled an Act to exempt from taxation, the struc-
ture of the Maryland and Virginia bridge company over the
Potomac river, between Shepherdstown, West Virginia, and
Washington county, Maryland.

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays, ' '
With proposed amendment.

Add at end of 6th line, section 1st, the words "for ten
years from the date of the passage of this Act."
