450 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 13, session, 1866, entitled an Act to incorporate a company to build a Turnpike road from Union bridge, Carroll county, to Unionsville, Frederick county, and enact a substitute there- for, With proposed amendments: In section 10, line 5, after the word "authorised," insert as follows, "subject to the provisions of Article 3, section 54, of the Constitution of Maryland. Additional section: And be it enacted, That this Company shall not be privi- leged to charge any tolls for vehicles passing over its road for the purpose of attending funerals, Which were adopted, And the bill as amended, was passed by yeas and nays as follows: AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Hammond, Browne, Lee, Biggs, Maddox, Brewer, Miller, Clarke, Malone, Carroll, Spates, Denson, Snyder, Fields, Smith, Henkle, Walsh, Hyland, Welch—.20. NEGATIVE—None. A bill entitled an Act to refund to Samuel J. Redgraves, of Anne Arundel county, Maryland, a certain sum of money erroneously paid by him into the State Treasury on account of State taxes. Endorsed, " passed by yeas and nays." A bill entitled an Act to exempt from taxation, the struc- ture of the Maryland and Virginia bridge company over the Potomac river, between Shepherdstown, West Virginia, and Washington county, Maryland. Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays, ' ' With proposed amendment. Add at end of 6th line, section 1st, the words "for ten years from the date of the passage of this Act." Which was adopted, And the bill as amended was passed by yeas and nays as follows: |
