Kimmel, NEGATIVE—None. The bill was then returned to the House of Delegates. On motion by Mr. Denson, The Senate adjourned until to-morrow, at 12 o'clock, M. TUESDAY, March 10,1868. The Senate met pursuant to adjournment. Prayer by the Rev. Mr. Hammond. Present at roll call : Messrs. President, Browne, Biggs, Brewer, Denson, Fields, Henkle, Hyland, Hammond, Kimmel, Lee, Maddox, Miller, Malone, Parker, of Calvert, Spates, Snyder, Walsh, Welch—19. Mr. Maddox presented the petition of H. G. S. Key and others, of St. Mary's county, praying the increase of Sheriff's fees, &c. Which was referred to Messrs. Maddox, Parker, of Cal- vert, and Henkle. On motion by Mr. Parker, of Calvert, Leave was granted to the Senators from Calvert, Anne Arundel and St. Mary's, to introduce a bill to authorize the County Commissioners of Calvert county, to subscribe to the capital stock of the Baltimore and Drum Point Rail Road. Mr. Miller presented the petition of Dr. James Higgins, asking relief therein mentioned with accompanying papers. Which was referred to the Committee on Finance. |
