Public General Laws, to be entitled Public Roads, and to
enact the following section in lieu thereof,

Being upon its third reading,
On motion by Mr. Henkle,

It was made the order of the day for Wednesday next,
11th March, at 1.30 P. M.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal section 3 of an Act
entitled an Act incorporating the Maryland Institute for the
Promotion of the Mechanical Arts, passed December session,
1849, chapter 114, and to enact a substitute therefor, and to
add additional sections thereto as sections 8 and 9,

Being upon its third reading,

On motion by Mr. Snyder,
It was postponed until Wednesday next, the 11th March.

On motion by Mr. Denson,
The Senate went into executive session.

After a short session, the Senate returned to the considera-
tion of legislative business.

House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Frederick
and Emmittsburg Rail Road Company,

Being upon its third reading,
Mr. Biggs offered the following amendment :

Strike out section 14 and insert the following: Section
14. And be it enacted, That the said President and Direc-
tors of the Frederick and Emmittsburg Rail Road Company,
be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to connect
the said railroad by means of wyes, switches, sidelings,
&c., with any other railroad or railroads, either at the ter-
minus or any intermediate point of the line of the said Fred-
erick and Emmittsburg Rail Road.

Which was adopted,

And the bill as amended, read the third time and passed.
