Said bill being upon a second reading,

Mr. Iglehart submitted the following amendment—add at
end of section 1 :

Provided that this Act shall be published for two months
before the next election for members of the House of Dele-
gates, in a newspaper published in Frederick county, and
shall also be approved by a majority of all the members
elected to each House of the next General Assembly.

Which was rejected.

The bill was then read a second time and ordered to he
engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Brown (the rules being suspended) submitted the fol-
lowing order :

Ordered, That Mr. Silver have leave of absence till Mon-
day next, on account of family bereavement.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Dutrow (the rules being suspended) submitted the fol-
lowing order:

Ordered, That it be placed upon the Journal of this House
that Mr. Albaugh is absent from his seat on account of
sickness.

Which was adopted.

The bill entitled an Act to amend the charter of the Balti
more Fells Point Savings Institution,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading;.

The bill entitled an Act authorizing the Commissioners-
appointed under the Act of 1840, chapter 215, and its several
supplements, to invest certain money remaining in their
hands,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

On motion of Mr. Devecmon,
The rules being suspended,

Leave was granted to the Allegany county delegation to
introduce a bill authorizing the County Commissioners of
Allegany county, to levy a sum of money for repairing the
county road leading from Green Ridge on the National
Turnpike to Twiggs Lock on the Chesapeake and Ohio
Canal.

The bill entitled an Act to authorize the County Commis-
sioners of Washington county, to purchase the field notes,
books and records of surveys heretofore made within the
