Which was read the first time. Also, reported unfavorably Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1867, chap- ter 372, entitled an Act to further extend the time and pro- visions of the Act passed February 6th, chap 15, and March 14th, 1864, chapter 373, and the supplements thereto, relat- ing to the payment of bounties to volunteers and drafted men of this State, and to substitute therefor an Act Lo provide for the payment of additional bounties; On motion by Mr. Henkle, it was Ordered, That this bill be recommitted to a special com- mittee of five with instructions to report this or some other bill, which, in their judgment, will best promote the ends of equal justice to all of our citizens, And the President pro tem appointed Messrs. Henkle, Malone, Maddox, Lee and Fields. The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered House Resolutions of thanks to the President and ladies of the Southern Relief Association of Maryland. Which were read the first time and referred to a select committee consisting of Messrs. Henkle, Grove, Earle, Mil- ler and Snyder. Also, House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Maryland Union Coal Company. Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit- tee on Corporations. Also, House bill entitled an Act to authorize the Board of Direc- tors of the Maryland Insurance and Security Company to re- duce the par value of the shares of the capital stock of said company, and to issue new stock in shares of such reduced value, Which was read the first time and referred to the Com- mittee on Judicial Proceedings. Also, House bill to incorporate the Frederick and Emmittsburg Rail Road Company. |
