On motion by Mr. Clarke, Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed- ings to introduce a bill to authorize the Chesnut Hill Iron Ore Company of Columbia, Pennsylvania, to hold lands in Carroll county, Maryland, for mining purposes. On motion by Mr. Hammond, Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed- ings to introduce a bill to enable Tench Tilghman, his heirs or assigns, to erect a bridge across the head waters of Town Creek, near the town of Oxford, in Talbot county. On motion by Mr. Henkle, Leave was granted to withdraw from the files of the last Senate the bill entitled an Act to provide for the disposition of the Tobacco Warehouses of the State in the city of Balti- more, and for the building of new warehouses on deep water. On motion by Mr. Malone, Leave was granted to the Senators from Wicomico, Somer- set and Worcester to report a bill to provide for the removal of cases of guardianship from the counties of Somerset and Worcester, to Wicomico county, where the parties all reside in Wicomico county. On motion by Mr. Maddox, Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed- ings to introduce a bill to add a new section to Article 88 of the Code of Public General Laws, title " Sheriffs." On motion by Mr. Grove, Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed- ings to report a bill to repeal the Act of 1864, chapter 267, and to re-enact the same with amendments. On motion by Mr. Grove, Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed- ings to report a bill to affect the responsibility of receivers in law or chancery.
