The subject was referred to the Committee on Federal Re-
lations.

Mr. Grove presented a petition from citizens of Washing-
ton county, with resolutions, in reference to public schools.

Which was referred to the Committee on Education.
Senate bill entitled an Act to establish physicians' lien

Was read a third time and rejected by yeas and nays as
follows :

The vote on the rejection was reconsidered,
And the bill recommitted to the select committee.

Senate bill entitled an Act to exempt from taxation the
structure of the Maryland and Virginia Bridge Company over
the Potomac River between Shepherdstown, West Virginia,
and Washington county, Md.

Was read a third time and passed by yeas and nays as
