On motion by Mr. Miller,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
bring in a bill to incorporate the Cecil Land and Loan Com-
pany.

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, reported fa-
vorably House bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower
the Commissioners of Allegany county to levy a sum of
money to aid in the construction of a bridge across the
Potomac River at Westernport, in Allegany county.

Which was read the second time.
Also,

Reported favorably House bill entitled an Act to authorize
Betsy A. White to settle with her ward, David A. White,
of Wicomico county.

Which was read the second time.
Also,

Reported favorably House bill entitled an Act for the re-
lief of Columbus Scarboro, of Harford county.

Which was read the second time.
Also,

Reported favorably House bill entitled an Act to extend
the time to the County Commissioners of this State, and the
Appeal Tax Court of Baltimore city, for hearing appeals
under the Act of 1866, chapter 157.

Which was read the second time.

Also,

Reported favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to authorize the American Life
Insurance Company to settle any outstanding transaction, in
which it may be interested.

Which, was read the second time.
On motion by Mr. Earle,

It was ordered, That the repairs to the heating apparatus
of the Senate Chamber, done by Messrs. Bartlett, Robbins &
Co., in December, 1867, (by order of the Secretary,) were, in
the opinion of the Senate, necessary and proper, and the
Comptroller is hereby requested to report upon the bill
therefor, so that it may be paid without unnecessary delay.

Mr. Spates, from the Committee on Corporations, reported

Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the "Gary Man-
ufacturing Company of Maryland.
