Also, delivered

House bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1864, chap-
ter 405, relating to the establishment of a uniform system
of contracting for public printing.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Printing.

Also,

House bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 46 and 47, of
the Code of Public Local Laws for Somerset county, and to
re-enact the same with amendments.

Which was read a first time,

And referred to the Senators from Somerset, Wicomico
and Dorchester.

Mr. Maddox presented the petition of citizens of St. Mary's
county, to continue the present school system.

Which was referred to the Committee on Education.
On motion by Mr. Malone,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, to report a bill for the relief of George W. Kennedy,
a minor of Wicomico county.

On motion by Mr. Grove,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance3 to re-
port a bill to relieve the "Maryland and Virginia Bridge
Company," from taxation hereafter.

Oa motion by Mr. Walsh,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations, to
introduce a bill to amend the charter of the Meredith Ford
and Jarrettsville Turnpike Company, in Baltimore and Har-
ford counties.

On motion by Mr. Spates,

Leave was granted to the Senators from Allegany, Howard
and Harford, to report a bill to add an additional section to
Article one of the Code of Public Local Laws, title Allegany
county, sub-title Weights and Measures.
