On motion by Mr. Malone,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Pro-
ceedings to report a bill appointing seven commissioners who
shall be authorized and empowered to purchase a site, and to
erect thereon a Court House and jail in the town of Salisbury
for Wicomico county.

Mr. Clarke presented the petition of Joseph Trainer and
eight other public school teachers of Baltimore city.

Which, was referred to the Committee on Education.

Mr. Grove, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported favorably House bill entitled an Act to repeal sec-
tion 69, of Article first, of the Code of Public Local Laws,
title, Allegany county, sub-title Fences, and to re-enact the
same with amendments.

Which was read the second time.
Also,

House bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1867, chap-
ter 235, entitled an Act to repeal section 39 of Article 19 of
the Code of Public Local Laws relating to the County Com-
missioners for Somerset county, and to re-enact the said sec-
tion 39 of Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws re-
lating to Somerset county, so as to read as follows.

Which was read the second time.

Also,

House bill entitled an Act to repeal the 39th section of
Article 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Mont-

gomery County," relating to the number of Justices of the
Peaceand Constables, and re-enacting the same so as to read
as follows.

Which was read the second time, and,

Mr. Brewer moved to suspend the rules in order to give
the bill a third reading.

Which was rejected by yeas and nays as follows, for want
of a constitutional majority.
