Also,

Reported unfavorably House bill entitled an Act for the
relief of William H. Peake, and David White, of Anne
Arundel county.

And the report was concurred in.

Also,

House bill favorably, entitled an Act to authorize and em-
power the Commissioners of Anne Arundel county to levy
and refund a certain sum of money to Samuel Redgraves, for
county and school taxes erroneously paid by him.

Which was read the second time.
Also,

Reported unfavorably the memorial of the Rev. W. C.
Wire and the Board of Trustees of the Burkettsville Female
Seminary.

And the report was concurred in.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal sections first and sec-
ond of the Act of Assembly, 1862, chapter 234, entitled an
Act to amend an Act to provide for the erection of a Hospital
for the Insane of this State, and sections 4th, 5th, 6th and
8th, of the Act of Assembly of 1864, chapter 248, entitled an
Act for the Government of the lusane Asylum and to regu-
late admissions thereto, and to enact the following sections
in lieu thereof,

Was read the second time, and,

On motion hy Mr. Henkle.
The following amendment thereto was adopted:
Amend by striking out the name of Cathel Humphries,
And the bill ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal an Act to authorize
the payment to the Maryland & Delaware Railroad Com-
pany, the sum of $13,000, applied to the Choptank & Mis-
pillion Railroad Company by the Act of 1860, chapter 303,
according to the provisions of section three of said Act,
passed on the 22d day of March, 1867, chapter 225, and to
reenact in lieu the following :

Came up as the order of the day on its third reading.

Mr. Smith moved to refer the bill to the Committee on In-
ternal Improvements.

Mr. Hammond moved to amend by referring the bill to the
Committee on Judicial Proceedings.

Upon which the yeas and nays being called it was deter-
mined in the negative as follows :
