On motion by Mr, Miller,

Was recommitted to the Committee on Judicial Pro-
ceedings.

Senate bill entitled an Act to amend the 37th Article of
the Public General Laws, by repealing the second section of
said Article relating to the competency of witnesses, and the
examination of parties as amended by the Act of 1864, chap-
ter 109, and inserting in said Article in lieu of the said sec-
tion so repealed, the following section, relating to the com-
petency of witnesses, and the examination of parties,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal the 45th section of
Article 29, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled
"Circuit Courts for the counties," and substitute the follow-
ing section in lieu thereof,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to carry into effect section 37
of Article 4, of the Constitution,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to release to Emily Watson and
Thomas Watson and William Watson, all the right and
interest of the State of Maryland in and to the personal es-
tate of Michael M. Mitchell, late of Baltimore county, de-
ceased,

Was read a second time, and,
On motion by Mr. Clarke,
Was re-committed to the select committee.

Senate bill entitled an Act to prohibit the granting of
license for the sale of spirituous or fermented liquors or lager
beer at or near Newark, in Worcester county, in the State of
Maryland,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act regulating the number, and pre-
scribing the powers and duties of the County Commissioners
for Wicomico county,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to ratify the proceedings of the
Sheriffs and Constables of Somerset and Worcester counties,
