Mr. Clarke, from select committee, reported Senate bill
entitled an Act to add additional sections to an Act entitled
an Act to incorporate the town of Ellicotts Mills by the name
of Ellicott city.

Which was read the first time.

Also,

Senate bill entitled an Act to release to Wm. Watson,
Emily Watson and Thomas Watson all the right and in-
terest of the State of Maryland, in and to the personal
estate of Michael M. Mitchell, late of Baltimore county,
deceased.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Grove, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported Senate bill entitled an act to carry into effect sec-
tion 37 of Article 4 of the Constitution.

Which was read the first time.

Also,

Senate bill entitled an Act to amend the 34th Article of
the Public General Laws, by repealing the second section of
said article relating to the competency of witnesses and the
examination of parties, as amended by the Act of 1864,
chapter 109, and inserting in said article, in lieu of the said
section so repealed, the following section relating to the com-
petency of witnesses and the examination of parties.

Which was read the first time.

Also,

Senate bill entitled an Act for the relief of Benj. Frost,.
alias Waters.

Which was read the first time.
Also,

Senate bill entitled an Act to amend Article 59 of the
Code of Public General Laws relating to mandamus by add-
ing thereto additional sections.

Which was read the first time.

Also,

Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize and direct the
Judges of the Court of Appeals of Maryland to hear imme-
diately the appeal now pending in the said Court, wherein
the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore is the appellant,
and the Union Rail Road Company of Baltimore the ap-
pellee.

Also,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 153, passed
