Resolved, by the General Assembly of Maryland, that the
Senators and Representatives from this State, in the Congress
of the United States, are hereby requested to urge upon that
body the passage of such laws as honor, justice, and the true
policy of the country demands, in fully securing to the natu-
ralized citizen the same rights of person and property, both
at home and abroad, which are now possessed by the native
born.
Resolved, That a copy of the above resolution be forwarded
by the proper officer to each of our Senators and Representa-
tives in Congress.

The Commitee on Printing report they have contracted
with Elias Griswold, of Dorchester county, for indexing the
Journal of Proceedings of the Senate for the sum of $250, to
be paid when the service has been performed.

On motion by Mr. Parker, of Worcester,
Leave was granted to the Senators from Wicomico and
Worcester to report a bill to amend the Act of 1860, chapter
303, entitled an Act to carry into effect the eighth section of
the Act entitled an Act for the promotion of Internal Im-
provements, passed at the December session, 1835, chapter
395, by applying the unappropriated part of the appropria-
tion made by said Act for the purposes of Internal Improve-
ment in Worcester county, to the construction of the Wor-
cester Railroad, and the Wicomico & Pocomoke Railroad.
On motion by Mr. Clarke,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Agriculture to re-
port a bill to regulate the inspection and measurement of
charcoal, and to provide for the appointment by the Gover-
nor of an inspector and measurer of charcoal.
Mr. Henkle, from the select committee, to which was recom-
mitted the Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 129 of
the Acts of 1864, entitled an Act to add additional sections to
the 44th Article of the Code of Public General Laws, title
" Maryland Hospital," prescribing an additional oath to be
taken by the President, Vice President and Visitors of the
said hospital, and to reinstate the former President, Vice
President and Visitors of the said hospital in office, reported
said bill favorably, and,
On motion by Mr. Snyder,
Its second reading was postponed until Monday next.
