1868.] OF THE SENATE. 55 TUESDAY, January 21, 1868. The Senate met pursuant to adjournment. In the absence of the President the Secretary called the Prayer by the Eev. Mr. Hildt. On motion by Mr. Fields, Mr. Henkle was chosen as President, pro tem, and took Present at roll call: Messrs. Browne, Brewer, Clarke, Carroll, Earle, Fields, Mr. Malone presented the petition of S. J.
