On motion by Mr. Biggs,

Leave was granted to withdraw from the Committee on
Education, the report of D. Zacharias, Secretary of Board of
Visitors, Frederick College, that he may hand it to the
Comptroller of the Treasury in compliance with the provis-
ions of Article 84, section 4, of Public General Laws.

Senate bill entitled an Act-to provide for the measurement
of oysters in the State of Maryland,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to authorize Lemuel Malone to
settle his accounts as guardian to George W. Smith, and to
pay over all monies due said ward,

Was read the third time, and passed by yeas and nays as
follows :

The bill was then sent to the House of Delegates.

Mr. Henkle, from the select committee, reported a bill en-
titled an Act to repeal chapter 129, of the Acts of 1864, en-
titled an Act to add additional sections to the 44th Article of
the Code of Public General Laws, title, "Maryland Hos-
pital," prescribing an additional oath to be taken by the
President, Vice-President and Visitors of the said Hospital,
and to re-instate the former President, Vice-President and
Visitors of the said Hospital in office.

Which was read the first time.

At 12, M., the Senate proceeded to the Hall of the House
of Delegates for the purpose of convening in joint assembly
with that, body for the election of United States Senator.

At 12.30 the Senators returned to the Senate Chamber and
resumed the usual business of the session.

On motion by Mr. Snyder, it was

Ordered, That when the Senate adjourn to-day it stands
adjourned until Monday next at 12, M.
On motion by Mr. Snyder,

The motion to adjourn until Monday was reconsidered,
and Tuesday next at 12, M., was substituted.
