50 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 16,

At 12 M. the Senate proceeded to the Hall of the House of
Delegates for the purpose of convening in joint assembly
with that body for the election of U. S. Senator.

At 1.20 P. M. the Senators returned to the Senate Cham-
ber and resumed the usual business of the session.

The House bill entitled an Act to amend the fourth section
of the Act of the General Assembly of Maryland, passed at
the January session 1864, chapter 29, entitled an Act to re-
peal the 12th section of an Act to incorporate the Kent
county Eailroad Company, passed on the 8th day of March,
1856, chapter 148, to add four sections thereto, and to ap-
point four new Commissioners in the place of four deceased
Commissioners,

Was read, the third time and passed by yeas and nays as
follows :

AFFIRMATIVE.

Brewer, Parker, of Calvert,

Carroll, Parker, of Worcester,

Fields, Spates,

Grove, Snyder,

The bill was then sent to the House of Delegates.

Mr. Grove from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings to
which the bill entitled an Act to repeal section 40 of Article
11, of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Frederick
county," and to re-enact the same with amendments was re-
committed, reported back said bill.
