who, conjointly with the committee of the House of Dele-
gates, retired from the Senate Chamber to count the ballots.
The memorial of John de la Camp, late surveyor in charge
of the boundary line between Maryland and Virginia, was
presented by the President and read.

Mr. Snyder presented a communication referred to him by
the Governor, from Q-eo. H. Dadd, Veterinary Surgeon, Bal-
timore, Md.

Which, was referred to the Committee on Agriculture.

Mr. Carroll presented a communication from S. K. Dash-
iell, President School Board of Howard county ;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Educa-
tion.

Mr. Malone obtained leave to report a bill to incorporate
Newton Lodge, No. 56, of the Independent Order of Odd
Fellows, at Salisbury, Md.

Which was read and referred to Senators from Wicomico,
Dorchester and Worcester counties.

Mr. Maddox obtained leave to introduce a bill to relieve
Capt. E. Jones from responsibility for arms obtained from
the State.

Which was read and referred to committee on militia.

Mr. Grove presented a petition concerning G-. W. McAtee,
from certain citizens of Washington County,

Which was read and referred to Committee on Finance.

Mr. Malone asked leave to report a bill legalizing the
official acts of the several Justices of the Peace, Constables,
and Road Supervisors, within the limits of Wicomico county,
who were appointed for Somerset and Worcester counties ;

Which was read and referred to the Senators from Wicom-
ico, Dorchester and Somerset counties.
On motion by Mr. Earle, it was

Ordered, That the Committee on Claims be directed to
issue their certificate in favor of P. Schoff for $120 for ser-
vices rendered.

On motion by Mr. Earle,

It was ordered and adopted that two thousand copies of
the Inaugural Address of Gov. Bowie be printed for distribu-
tion among the members of the Senate.

Mr. Hammond obtained leave to introduce a bill to regu-
late the appointment and tenure of office of the Trustees of
the Talbot county alms-house,

Which, was referred to the Judiciary Committee.
On motion by Mr. Earle.

The vote on the adoption of the order in relation to the
printing of the inaugural address of the Governor elect, was
reconsidered.

Mr. Earle then submitted the following; amendment:
