Which was read and adopted.
On motion by Mr. Maddox,

Leave was granted to introduce a bill to incorporate the
Mutual Fire Insurance Company of St. Mary's county.

Referred to the Committee on Corporations.
On motion by Mr. Hammond,

Leave was granted to introduce a bill to incorporate Burns
Lodge, No. 87, A. F. & A. M.

Referred to Committee on Corporations.

Mr. Snyder reported a bill, entitled an Act to repeal sec-
tion 26 of Article 4, Code of Public Local Laws, relating to
the city of Baltimore, and to substitute in lieu thereof:

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Snyder moved to suspend the rules in order to have
the bill read a second time.

The rules were suspended by the following vote :

The bill was then read the second time, and engrossed for
a third reading.

Mr. Henry H. Bennett appeared, and was sworn in by the
President as Door-keeper.

Mr. Denson submitted the following report of the special
committee appointed to salect suitable Chaplains for the
Senate.

The committee appointed to confer together and make
selection of suitable ministers to officiate as Chaplains of this
body, beg to recommend for the action of the Senate the
names of the Rev. Mr. Hammond, the Rev. Father Burke,
and the Rev. George Hildt.
