138 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 23,

Being a bill entitled an Act for the protection of Wild
Game within the limits of Frederick, Baltimore and Carroll
counties.

Said bill being upon a second reading,

Mr. Blake submitted the following amendment:

Strike out section 3 and insert the words, and this Act
shall take effect from and after January 1st, 1890.

Which was rejected.

Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city, moved to strike out the en-
acting clause of the bill.

Decided in the negative.

The bill as amended was then read a second time and or-
dered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to provide for the repayment out
of the storage and outage on tobacco of moneys heretofore
demanded and received by the Inspectors of Tobacco, in vio-
lation of the Acts of 1864, chapter 346, and 1865, chapter
194, and to repeal the Act of 1867, chapter 148, in relation
to that subject.

Was read a second time, and,

On motion of Mr. Brown,
Referred to the Committee on Inspections.

The bill entitled an Act to amend the 43d section of
the 29th Article of the Code of Public General Laws relating
to the compensation of the Crier of the Court of Appeals,
and of the Sheriff appointed to attend said court, and the
Act of 1862, chapter 107, amending the same by repealing
the same and enacting a substitute therefor.

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Atlantic Hotel
Company of Berlin, Worcester county,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to protect foxes whilst pursued by
dogs in Wicomico county,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 1, 2, 9, 11 and
19 of Article 21 of the Code of Public Local Laws, enti-
tled "Washington county," sub-title "Alms House,' and
to re-enact the same with amendments,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.
