Which was read, assented to, and sent to the Senate.

John M. Carter, Esq., Secretary of State, delivered the
following message from his Excellency, the Governor :

EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT,

Annapolis, March 28, 1868.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

I have this day signed and transmitted to the Clerk of the
Court of Appeals, the following bills received from your
Honorable Body on the 25th instant:

An Act to restore to the West Nottingham Academy, in
Cecil county, the annual donation of five hundred dollars, to
be paid out of the School Fund of said county.

An Act to amend the charter of the Philadelphia, Wil-
mington and Baltimore Railroad Company.

An Act to repeal sections 28 and 29, of Article 56, of the
Code of Public General Laws, and to re-enact the same with
amendments so as to read as follows.

An Act to incorporate the Grand United Independent
Order of Isaac and Rebecca, No. 1, of the city of Annapolis,
Maryland.

An Act to repeal and re-enact the Act of 1867, chapter
185, for the suppression of the crime of unlawful abortion.

An Act to repeal sections 74, 75, 76, 77 and 78, of Article
75, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Pleadings
of Practice and Process," sub-title "Removal of Causes,"
as amended by the Act of Assembly of 1865, chapter 187,
and to re-enact the following as substitute therefor.

An Act to add to the 4th Article of the Code of Public Lo-
cal Laws, the following sections, empowering the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore, to construct, open and enlarge or
straighten sewers within the limits of the city, and to pro-
vide the means for paying for the same, and compensation to
any damage of property holders caused by the construction,
opening, enlarging or straightening of any sewers within the
limits of the city.

An Act to amend the Public Local Laws, title "Kent
County," sub-title Roads, Article 14, by adding a new sec-
tion thereto.

An Act to repeal an Act entitled an Act to add a new sec-
tion to Article 12, of the Code of Local Laws for Harford
county, entitled Schools, relating to Harford County
Academy, and to the Cokesbury or Abingdon Academy, and
to re-enact the same with an amendment restoring the State
donation to the Harford County Academy.
