The Secretary of the Senate returned the bill entitled an
Act to repeal sections 66 to 109 inclusive, of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland for Charles county, under
the head of Roads, and enact the following in lieu thereof.
Endorsed : "Passed by yeas and nays with proposed amend-
ments."
Amendments proposed :
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall also
apply to the county of St. Mary's in its provisions ; provided,
the sense of the people of said county be taken on the question
of its adoption at an election to be held in said county on the
same day and in the same mode in every respect as provided
in the preceding section for Charles county, and if it shall
appear to the County Commissioners of St. Mary's county
upon the returns thereof being made to them in like manner,
that more ballots have been cast for, than against the adop-
tion of said Act, they shall in like manner issue proclama-
tion declaring the same, and proceed to carry said Act into
effect.
Add at end of title :
"And to provide a road system for St. Mary's county."
