Said bill was then sent to the Senate.
The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal section 21 of Ar-
ticle 7, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Carroll county,
entitled Justices of the Peace and Constables, and to re-
enact the same with amendments,
Being npon a third reading,
Mr. Jordan (by unanimous consent) submitted the follow-
ing amendments :
Amendments proposed:
Section 1, immediately after the enacting clause, insert
the words, that the Act of 1867, chapter 110, providing an
additional constable for District No. 2, of Carroll county, be
and the same is hereby repealed, and; line 8, insert after
the word "constables" the words, of which number one Jus-
tice of the Peace and one constable shall reside in the village
or vicinity of Union Bridge ; at the end of line 12 strike out
"two" and insert three ; line 16 strike out "two" and insert
three ; and at the end of line 1, strike out "one" and insert
two; line 17 strike out "constable" and insert constables;
add at the end of the section the words, of which number
one Justice of the Peace and one constable shall reside in
the town of New Windsor.
Amend the title by adding at the end thereof the words,
and also to repeal the Act of 1867, chapter 110, providing an
additional constable for District No. 2, of Carroll county.
