1120 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 26,

The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 5, chapter 336,
of the Acts of 1867, and to enact the following in lieu-
thereof.

Being upon a second reading.
On motion of Mr. Slingluff,

The further consideration thereof was indefinitely post-
poned.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 6, and to repeal,
amend and re-enact section 5, of Article 40, of the Code of
Public General Laws, entitled, "Marriages,"

Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to make valid the official acts of
certain Constables appointed by the Mayor and City Council
of Baltimore, elected under the present Constitution of the
State of Maryland,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a.
third reading.

On motion of Mr. Chaisty,
(The rules being suspended,)
The House took up for consideration,

The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 939, Article 4,
of the Public Local Laws, relating to Baltimore city, sub-
title "water," as enacted by chapter 38, of the Act of the
General Assembly, passed at the January session 1866, and
to re-enact the said section so as to read as follows :

Which was then read a third time and passed by yeas and
nays as follows:
