On motion of Mr. Smith, of Worcester,
(The rules being suspended,)

The House resumed the consideration of bills entitled to a
second reading.

The bill entitled an Act to authorize the construction of a
bridge over the Potomac River near the mouth of New Creek,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The hill entitled an Act to provide for the copying, bind-
ing and indexing certain chancery records in the office of the
Clerk of the Superior Court of Baltimore city, and for re-
copying, re-binding and re-indexing certain land records
therein,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled a further supplement to an Act entitled
an Act to incorporate companies to make several turnpike
roads through Baltimore county, and for other purposes,
passed at the November session 1804,

Being upon a second reading,

Mr. Slingluff submitted the following amendment:

Add at the end of section one, the words, provided how-
ever that said turnpike companies shall not charge any tolls
on any vehicle going to or returning from a funeral.

Which was adopted.

The bill as amended was then read a second time and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to regulate and make uniform the
fees of Justices of the Peace,

Being upon a second reading,

Mr. Corbin submitted the following amendment :

Strike out the third section.
Which was adopted.

The bill as amended was then read a second time and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.
