1074 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 25,

the words, granting to certain soldiers and the widows of
soldiers of the war of 1812, a pension of eighty dollars per
annum to be paid in quarterly instalments.

Which was adopted.

The title as amended was then adopted.

Said bill was then sent to the Senate.

Mr. Montague, (the rules being suspended,) submitted the
following order:

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that a mes-
sage to the Senate, adopted on Monday, the 23d instant, re-
questing the return of bill known as "Estrays," was not
sent into the Senate until Tuesday, the 24th.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Nicolai, (the rules being suspended,) submitted the
following order :

Ordered, That M. M. Pomeroy, the representative of
Western Democracy, have the use of this Hall this afternoon
at 4 o'clock, for the purpose of delivering a lecture.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Latrobe, acting Chairman of the Committee on Ways
and Means, reported favorably

The joint resolution relating to the banking institutions
of this State.

Which was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

Mr. Iglehart, Chairman of the Committee on Corpora-
tions, reported favorably

The Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Balti-
more and North Point Turnpike Road Company.

Which was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

Also, reported favorably the following Senate bills :

A bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Knickerbocker
Life Insurance Company.

A bill entitled an Act to amend an Act passed at the ses-
sion of the General Assembly of Maryland, held in the year
1860, entitled an Act to incorporate the Bare Hill Mining
Company.

A bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Triadelphia
Turnpike Company.

A bill entitled an Act to repeal section 103, of chapter
183, entitled an Act to incorporate the town of Princess
