1072 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 25,

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

March 25, 1868.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

We respectfully call your attention to a message adopted
by this House on Monday last, and ordered to be sent to
your Honorable Body, requesting the return of a hill enti-
tled an Act to add a new section to Article 26 of the Code of
Public General Laws, title Estrays, and Vessels adrift.

We understand that said message was not delivered to
your Honorable Body until noon of the 24th inst. In con-
sideration of said bill not having been acted upon either in
Committee of your House or by your Honorable Body, we-
respectfully request the return of it to this House.

Which was read, and the question being on its adoption.,
it wae rejected.

Mr. Slingluff submitted the following order :

Ordered, That Mr. Holmes, of Baltimore county, have
leave of absence for the time he has been absent, and until
Friday next, on account of sickness in his family.

Which was adopted.

Mr, Keech, Chairman of the Committee on Pensions, re-
ported favorably

The bill entitled an Act to pay certain soldiers and the
widows of soldiers who served in the war of 1812, which bill
prescribes that no greater sum shall be paid to the persons
named than eighty dollars per annum, with proposed substi-
tute.

The substitute was adopted,

And the bill as amended ordered to be engrossed for a third
reading,

And having been engrossed,

Mr. Keech moved that the bill be read a third time this
day in accordance with the provisions of section 27, Articles
of the Constitution.
