WEDNESDAY, March 25th, 1868.

The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Cronin.

Present at the call of the roll the following members :

Messrs. Stewart, (Speaker,) Loker, Coad, Boyer, Beck,
Iglehart, Deale, Bond, of Calvert, Dalrymple, Mitchell,
Chapman, Slingluff, Montague, Poteet, Biddison, Rose, Lowe,
Cor bin, Horsey, Percy, Stewart, of Dorchester, Johnson,
Davis, of Cecil, Richards, Mearns, Keech, Sudler, Legg,
Holloway, Smith, of Worcester, Albaugh, Dutrow, Wen-
ner, Bowlus, Maynard, Byers, Silver, Nelson, Vandiver,
Huhbard, Sanner, Wentz, Blake, Smith, of Baltimore
city, Bond, of Baltimore city, Colton, Mullin, Chaisty,
McElroy, Harig, Markland, Conway, Coudy, Herbert, Roh-
rer, Seibert, Riggs, Offutt, Conley, McCulloh, Kean, Trim-
ble, Worthington, Clark, Fooks, Hopkins—66.

Mr. Herbert submitted the following order :

Ordered, That all speeches hereafter shall not exceed two
minutes, without the unanimous consent of the House is

obtained.

Which was read.

Mr. Legg submitted the following amendment:
Strike out the word "two" and insert the word five.
Mr. Wenner submitted the following amendment:
Strike out the word "two" and insert the word ten.
Which was rejected.

The question then recurring upon the adoption of the
amendment submitted by Mr. Legg,

It was adopted.

The question then recurring upon the order as amended,

It was adopted.

Mr. Blake submittted the following order:

Ordered, That it be placed on the Journal that Mr.
Morse is absent from his seat in consequence of pressing
business.

Which was adopted.
