The House continued the consideration of bills entitled to
a second reading.

The bill entitled an Act to add an additional section to
Article 30, of the Code of Public General Laws, sub-title
Sabbath breaking,

Being upon a second reading,

Mr. Chapman submitted the following amendment:

Section 1, line 3, strike out the words "does not," and in-
sert the words who may actually abstain from.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Bowlus submitted the following amendment:

Section 1, line: 7, after the Avord "any,",insert the word
merchandise.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Mitchell submitted the following amendment :

Section 1, line 3, after the words "and who," insert the
words with persons who likewise keep the said seventh day
of the week.

The question being on the adoption of the amendment,
