SEC. 16. And be it enacted, That no prosecution shall be com-
menced for any omission to take out a license to vend lottery
tickets heretofore, or for any past violation of the existing laws
relating to lotteries, or the sale of lottery tickets within this
state; and that in all cases of indictments or presentments now
depending for such omission or violations the same shall, on the
payment of all costs, be dismissed by the attorney for the state
in the court wherein any such indictment or presentment is
depending.

SEC. 17. And be it enacted, That it shall not be lawful for
the governor and council to remit the part of any fine to which
any informer may be entitled under any law of this state.
SEC. 18. And be it enacted, That the 10th, 11th, 12th and
13th sections of an act, entitled, an act to amend the lottery
system, chapter 160, passed at December session 1827, shall be
and they hereby are made applicable as follows; that is to say,
the 10th section thereof shall be considered as applicable to the
6th section, and the 11th section to the 7th, and the 12th section
to the 8th, the 13th section to the 9th, any thing in the said
original act contained, to the contrary notwithstanding.

grand juries
Repeal.

SEC. 19. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of the
several county courts, and of the city court of Baltimore, to give
this act in charge to their respective grand juries.
SEC. 20. And be it enacted, That the third section of an act
passed at December session 1825, chapter 210, and all acts, or
parts of acts repugnant to the foregoing provisions of this act,

are hereby repealed ; Provided, that such repeal shall not affect
the rights acquired by any person or persons who may have
heretofore obtained, and be entitled to use a license under the
laws of this state, relating to lotteries or the sale of lottery tickets
therein.

SEC. 21. And be it enacted, That in case any person or per-
sons shall, within this state, propose or offer to draw or dispose
of any lottery or lotteries, or other device or game of chance, or
any scheme or schemes of any lottery or lotteries, or other device
or game of chance, which the lottery commissioners shall
believe to be unauthorized by the laws of this state, the said
commissioners shall be and they are hereby authorized in every
such case to call on the attorney-general, or any of his deputies,
In behalf of this state, to sue out of any county court, or of the
high court of chancery, a writ of injunction, to restrain such
person or persons from proceeding in the drawing of any such
lottery or lotteries, or other device or game of chance, until the
rights of the parties can be determined,
